How to write product pages that answer buyers’ questions before they order
A product page's job is to remove doubts. Structuring content as “what it is, is it right for me, can I trust it, how do I buy” works better than piling on selling points.
By the time shoppers reach a product page, they’re already interested. What they need now isn’t more adjectives but answers: What is it? Is it right for me? Can I trust it? How soon will it arrive? What if I’m not happy with it?
First screen: say it in one line
- The title includes the product name and its most important attributes (size, material, who it’s for).
- The main image is clean and clear; the first image should explain the product at a glance.
- Price, option selectors and the buy button are visible on the first screen.
- List the key selling points in 3–4 short lines, not one long paragraph.
Part two: is it right for me?
The most common hesitation is “Will this work for me?”
- Size and specs: give exact numbers, ideally with a size chart or comparison image.
- Use cases: use lifestyle images to show who uses it and when.
- Compatibility: for electronics, list supported devices and operating systems; for accessories, list compatible models.
Part three: can I trust it?
- Genuine customer reviews; reviews with photos are more convincing.
- Verifiable details such as materials, craftsmanship and certifications.
- A short note on your brand story or quality control process.
Part four: what happens after I buy?
- Processing time and estimated delivery time.
- Your return policy, summed up in a sentence or two, with a link to the full policy page.
- Warranty and after-sales contact details.
Many sites hide this information in the footer, yet the product page is exactly where shoppers decide whether to buy.
Put FAQs at the end
Turn the questions your customer service hears most often into an FAQ at the bottom of the product page. Every question you answer removes one more reason to abandon the purchase.
Review it when you’re done
Scroll through the page on your phone from top to bottom and ask yourself: if I’d never heard of this brand, would I feel confident ordering after reading this page? If the answer is “not sure,” keep adding content.
